As a creative person of any sort, you are always looking for ways to take your creation and share it with the world. You want to be successful and see your ideas reach a global audience. If you are already aware of the enormous potential with online video, then hosting webinars is going to take you one step further.
Human beings love social interactivity. The Internet originally was one of the most unsocial mediums until the introduction of social media. The world went crazy over the YouTube because it gave artists a chance to truly demonstrate their creativity online visually, and target their niche viewers. Sites like Facebook and Twitter now allow for creativity to be shared with a large audience in a very short amount of time. But what about webinars? What is a webinar and how can we incorporate this into current social media technologies, and how can this allow us to express our creativity even further?
What is a Webinar?
A webinar is like a seminar. A seminar allows for a speaker to reach to a large audience, but mimic the connection and rapport you would build in a one to one conversation. A webinar however is conducted through the internet. It works by having all of the viewers link up their computers through the internet, or the participants can go directly to a specific URL in order to attend the webinar.
The Perks of Webinars
There are various different perks to hosting a webinar online:
Creative Promotion
At first glance, you might assume webinars are best for business meetings. Be creative and think outside the box! The possibilities for creative promotion and expression are unlimited. Perhaps broadcast your next live event through a webinar, run a creative competition or host your next art exhibition. Allow your audience to get live Q and A from you and talk about your creative inspiration and expression on a regular basis. If your creativity is a marketable product, this can be your pitching platform.
Mention your webinars on social media platforms. Just like you would hand out flyers or advertise in the newspaper for a seminar, do the same with online social media. Update your Facebook and Twitter profiles and encourage others to tell a friend. Talk about what you are going to share, not what you are going to sell.
Webinars are an inexpensive and convenient and way to engage with your audience in real time and express your creativity. Be yourself, be innovative, artistic, imaginative. Have fun and enjoy the process. Don’t forget to invite me to your next webinar!
